Here at Brighter Adoptions we hope to shine the light a little brighter on our birth mothers and our adoptive parents. We want the entire adoption experience at our agency to feel warmer and brighter than anywhere else.

We have been involved in adoptions for over twenty-two years and have been through it a number of times personally as well.  We know that each and every individual is unique and we want to make each one of our adoptions unique. We strive to cater to our birth mothers and to make this extremely difficult experience as bright as possible.

Owner and Director

Brighter Adoptions is a new beginning and fresh start for me. I have been involved in adoptions for over twenty-two years. I was the owner and director of an agency for seven years, many years ago, and placed over 300 infants into forever homes. I loved my business and missed it greatly when I closed the doors. But it was time for me to focus on my family and get some of my own babies raised. During the past eleven years, I have worked for other local agencies off and on as needed. I have never left the adoption world completely.

After lots of promptings and much thought I have decided an eleven-year hiatus is long enough… I am ready to go and I am excited to be here! I have the knowledge and know how of running an adoption agency but also a rested mind and fresh outlook.

My oldest daughter Shaylee obtained her Master’s degree in Counseling at ETSU in Johnson City, Tennessee and has moved back to Utah to work with me. I am excited to share her with all of you! Shaylee grew up in the adoption world and is very familiar with all the ins and outs and especially all the emotions and feelings that go hand in hand with adoption.  She will be working with our local families and birth mothers.

I have adopted eleven of my children and am very familiar with how it feels to be in your shoes. There is nothing quite as exciting and difficult as adopting a baby. I hope that my experience and understanding will help the process for you. We care about making this process as BRIGHT as possible.

We are excited to be part of your adoption journey.

Shaylee’s whole life has been filled with adoption. She has multiple siblings that joined her family through adoption. Her mother owned and operated an adoption agency during her formative years. There were always birth mothers and adoptive parents at her home and around the dinner table. Adoption is nothing new to Shaylee. She has a great respect for birth mothers and the sacrifice they make for their infants.

She received her B.S. in Psychology from Berry College in Rome, GA, in 2014. Following her degree from Berry College, she attended East Tennessee State University where she graduated with her M.A. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, in 2016.

Shaylee has very recently moved back to Utah and is looking forward to helping families and expectant mothers through their adoption journey.
